I'm Back

Been busy lately, had my surgery on the 22 and have been recovering lately. Got a lot crocheting done, just haven't got pics yet. I will get some up this week.

I have been really frustrated with our school system here. I have been trying to get my younger boys into a school close to us, Whitesburg Elmentary, but out of district( supposed to go to Central Elementary, cecause we are 1.8 miles past the district line, even though we live in Whitesburg), they passed a new law last school year, that as long as a school had an opening and the child had transportation they could go to that school, called an intra-district transfer. Well we waited to see what schools have opening and lo and behold Whitesburg doesn't have any openings...as a matter of fact Central doesn't have any opening either. So they are telling me they can't go to Whitesburg, because there is no open seats, but they can go to Central that is already overcrowded. I pay my property taxes every year, which is what funds our school system, but I cannot use this service as I would like to. It is really frustrating. So as of right now we are back to homeschooling next year (which I don't mind) Our oldest one is going back to public school, he will be in the 8th grade and there is only one middle school for our area, so this is fine, he wants to go back. He misses his friends and sports. The other two we have applied to a charter school through our public school system, this way they will be doing the same work as kids in school, just less time every day. Hopefully next year we will be able to get them in, and they will on the same level if not higher than everyone else....

OK enough ranting for today....hopefully I will get some pictures posted later this week of work in progress and completed projects....YAY!!!

Big Decision...Something for ME!!!

I have decided to do something for me....I am getting new "boobs". I have a good bit of critism and support from varing family members and friends. I was suprised that my mother wasn't one of the supporters. My grandmother although criticizing at first was laughing by the time the discussion was over....she asked what was I going to do when I was her age...I said I will be your age with nice boobs....she thought this was hilarious. At least I made her laugh. I am getting super excited, nervous, anxious....I can't wait. I have my pre-op on Tuesday and the surgery is on the 22nd. I have already bought me one bra in my new size...which I will tell the Dr on Tuesday what size I have decided to be. My husband has been awesome about all of it. He was the one that called an set up the consultation for me. He knew that I would keep putting it off...I am really a horrible procrastinater. I am so glad he called though. The consultation was great, the Dr and his staff were the best. Everyone was really done to earth and friendly. Even one of the nurses showed me hers, which the Dr had done, they looked great. Did you know that they come with a lifetime warrenty? I do now, they have have a guarantee within the first ten years that if they bust or deflate they will replace the implants and pay a percentage of the surgeon's fees. I love that part, but it is awesome that the company stands behind their product that way.

I feel like a kid counting down for Christmas, only 12 more day. My DH just laughs at me, he thinks it's funny. He keeps joking with me about the amount of pain that I will be in. I told him it could be no worse that giving birth to 3 kids...lol...Can't wait!!

New items listed on Etsy this morning

Well i finally got some new items up on Etsy this morning. A beautiful "Waves" baby blanket and hat. These are custom made items, so you get to pick your colors. And a beautiful shrug. Also custom made, the one in the picture is actually mine. I made it to go with my Easter outfit. I didn't have a sweater to match so of course I just made one. Here are the pics:

Found pattern

Oh my Goodness this is so cute. The pattern is found here and it is so adorable. I saw this on Crochetville, here is the post. I love the color combo that she used. What a great way to use up all your scraps. Or even in a solid color. Well this is one more thing to add to my ever growing list of projects.

New WIP's

I saw Sarah London's Wool Eater Blanket and just had to try it. I have a lot of baby yarn so I am going try to use it up...I will post some pictures later. I am also working on a Button up Neck Warmer. I found the pattern in Crochet! January 09 issue and thought it was so cute. I am making one for my secret sister. I will post some pictures of it when I am done. I am also working on a lapghan for my secret sister in UGA colors, I got all my blocks done, just need to put them together and put a border on it. I am trying to think what else I am working on right now. Well that is all I can think of now.

These are just a couple of things that I have made. The first sweater and blanket are ones that I gave to a friend two weeks ago. I just finished a scarf and a sample of the wool eaters blanket. I am loving the way that turned out. I will post some pictures of it later.
