I'm Back

Been busy lately, had my surgery on the 22 and have been recovering lately. Got a lot crocheting done, just haven't got pics yet. I will get some up this week.

I have been really frustrated with our school system here. I have been trying to get my younger boys into a school close to us, Whitesburg Elmentary, but out of district( supposed to go to Central Elementary, cecause we are 1.8 miles past the district line, even though we live in Whitesburg), they passed a new law last school year, that as long as a school had an opening and the child had transportation they could go to that school, called an intra-district transfer. Well we waited to see what schools have opening and lo and behold Whitesburg doesn't have any openings...as a matter of fact Central doesn't have any opening either. So they are telling me they can't go to Whitesburg, because there is no open seats, but they can go to Central that is already overcrowded. I pay my property taxes every year, which is what funds our school system, but I cannot use this service as I would like to. It is really frustrating. So as of right now we are back to homeschooling next year (which I don't mind) Our oldest one is going back to public school, he will be in the 8th grade and there is only one middle school for our area, so this is fine, he wants to go back. He misses his friends and sports. The other two we have applied to a charter school through our public school system, this way they will be doing the same work as kids in school, just less time every day. Hopefully next year we will be able to get them in, and they will on the same level if not higher than everyone else....

OK enough ranting for today....hopefully I will get some pictures posted later this week of work in progress and completed projects....YAY!!!

Found pattern

Oh my Goodness this is so cute. The pattern is found here and it is so adorable. I saw this on Crochetville, here is the post. I love the color combo that she used. What a great way to use up all your scraps. Or even in a solid color. Well this is one more thing to add to my ever growing list of projects.

New WIP's

I saw Sarah London's Wool Eater Blanket and just had to try it. I have a lot of baby yarn so I am going try to use it up...I will post some pictures later. I am also working on a Button up Neck Warmer. I found the pattern in Crochet! January 09 issue and thought it was so cute. I am making one for my secret sister. I will post some pictures of it when I am done. I am also working on a lapghan for my secret sister in UGA colors, I got all my blocks done, just need to put them together and put a border on it. I am trying to think what else I am working on right now. Well that is all I can think of now.

Wool Eater sampler

I started the wool eater on monday, once I got into it the repeats are easy. I love the way this looks. I need to dig thru my stash to find colors to make a blanket. But so far I am so loving this pattern. I will post some pics later.

Baby Blankets

Still working on a lot of baby stuff. Still haven't had a chance to post any pics. With chasing the kids and co-op and keeping the house up, I have been so busy. I just wish there was more hours in the day to crochet....

Etsy Store

I posted some new things on Etsy today. I am hoping to get a lot more done this week to sell. I have two blankets that I am working on and I took pics of some older sweaters and hats that I finished forever ago and just never posted. I am really hoping to get the store and my new blog going!

Welcome to Simply Crochet

Welcome to my blog. This is my think tank for my crocheting addiction. I love to crochet...love...love...love. It is my stress reliever and my everything. I have three boys who were my original inspirations for crocheting. I loved to make blankets and sweaters and hats for them when they were little. They are not so little anymore, so they have kinda outgrown those kinds of things. I still make things for them, although the blankets are a lot bigger now, and they toys a little more complicated. (Like a crocheted tractor for my five yo, who is obsessed with tractors and dirt...lol) I have a very loving husband that puts up with my addiction. With only a little fussing about all the yarn everywhere, and why the laundry can't get done, but I finished two blankets. But he is the best husband ever. Hope you will join me on my crochet journey.
